My own tradition is there are 12 days of Christmas and I like to keep with that. I’m sentimental but it’s the way I am.

I really hope I sleep properly tonight. I had such a bad night last night I ended up crashing again at 9am and waking at 12 noon. It’s killing me. Insomnia is the fkn worst.

Me: *opens oven door and sets temperature for preheat*
Fly: thank you, I’ll make myself right at home in there

The last 2 days feels like a dream

That’s two wonderful but exhausting days with my kids and family. That’s what christmas is all about, all I care about: being with my loved ones.

I spend a lot of time alone so next couple of days will be coming back to myself again. Recombobulating.

Me and my eldest revived one of our Christmas traditions last night: Opening our Winterfest presents together in Fortnite.

Fortnite’s been a really important way for me to connect with my kids over the years. Although it’s just a video game, it is a part of our connectedness. 🎮

I love Micro.blog. A lot. I think it’s awesome. And I admit that I am a chaotic person. But I find Micro.blog overly chaotic at times. And I feel like I have to double check everything just a bit too much. The posting paranoia is real.

I haven’t seen Die Hard in so long. And I’ve seen the censored TV version more often than the original. I was telling my son about the iconic line censored and dubbed to “Yippee-ki-yay, kimosabe”. Somehow we didn’t notice McClane say it but we did notice Gruber quote it towards the end 🤣🍿

Micro.blog feature request:

I would love to be able to mute/hide a post directly on the timeline. Very occasionally there’s something I really don’t want to see more than once. And the mute function is not going to cover it.

Today was a nice quiet day. I stayed in and got a few things done. I watched a film and played a bit of Fortnite. I got an epic win tonight. It was so cool. Nice

I remember watching reruns of TOS in the 80s. I think it was on about 6pm on BBC2. I was captivated by it and that was it. Trekkie for life 🖖 ✱
